Ingredients
- 4 tbsp sesame seeds (ideally a mix of white and black)
- 240g pack No.1 MSC Yellowfin Tuna Steaks
- 2 tbsp light soy sauce
- 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
- 1 tsp Essential Clear Honey
- 1 unwaxed lime, zest and juice
- 1 loose ripe Extra Large Avocado, fresh cut into small 1cm chunks
- 3 Essential Salad Onions, finely sliced
- 1 jalapeño or mild green chilli, deseeded and finely chopped
- 1 tbsp vegetable or sunflower oil
- 275g pack fresh rice noodles
Method
Put the sesame seeds on a small plate, mixing white and black, if using. Lightly season the tuna steaks, then press each into the sesame seeds on both sides; set aside on a plate.
In a small bowl, make the dressing by combining the soy sauce, sesame oil, honey and ½ of the lime zest and juice. In a large bowl, combine the avocado, ½ of the salad onions, the chilli and remaining lime juice with a pinch of salt. Set both aside.
Heat the vegetable or sun ower oil in a frying pan over a medium-high heat. When smoking hot, fry the tuna steaks for 2-4½ minutes on each side, to taste. Meanwhile, heat the rice noodles according to pack instructions. Toss the remaining salad onions and lime zest through the noodles and divide between 2 shallow bowls. Top with the tuna and avocado salsa, then spoon over the soy dressing.
