Ingredients

  • 400g tub Renshaw Royal Icing
  • ½ tsp yellow food colouring gel
  • ½ tsp red food colouring gel
  • Few drops Cooks’ Ingredients Valencian Orange Natural Extract, to taste
  • 154g pack Oreo Original Cookies
  • 14 Cake Decor Edible Eyes
  • Dark Chocolate Dr Oetker Chocolatey Decorating Icing (from a 4x19g pack of 4 mixed flavours)

Method

  1. Line a large baking tray with baking parchment and put a wire rack on top.

  2. Mix the icing with the colouring gels and the Valencian orange extract, to taste, to make a paste. Add 1-2 drops water to loosen if needed – it should be about the consistency of viscous double cream.

  3. Dip the tops of the cookies into the icing, allow any excess to drip off, then place onto the prepared rack.

  4. Stick a single edible eye on each face, then use the chocolate decorating icing to make an X for the other eye, and a mouth (a smiley zig-zag or a horizontal line with several small vertical lines to make teeth). Leave to dry before serving
