A vegan-friendly morning-after cocktail for those who don’t like a bloody Mary.

Ingredients

  • Large ice cube or smaller cubes
  • 5ml Vivir Café VS Coffee Liqueur
  • 15ml vodka
  • ½ tsp Monin Vanilla Syrup, or to taste (or see tip)
  • 200ml Oatly Oat Drink Barista Edition
  • 1 shot espresso (around 30ml), cooled
  • Vegan cocoa powder, to dust (optional)

Method

  1. Fill a tumbler with ice cubes and pour in the liqueur, vodka and syrup. Top up to around 2.5cm below the glass rim with the oat drink. Just before serving, pour over the espresso so it trickles down into the drink for a marbled effect. Dust with cocoa powder if liked, then serve immediately.

Cook’s tip

To make your own sugar syrup, gently heat equal parts sugar and water together until the sugar has dissolved, bring to the boil, then remove from the heat and leave to cool. Cool the syrup and store in a sterilised container. If your scales don’t measure in millilitres. 1ml liquid = 1g; 1 tbsp is 15ml and 1 tsp is 5ml.
