Preheat the oven to 200°C, gas mark 6. Place a large, ovenproof frying pan over a medium high-heat. Rub the chicken thighs all over with the oil, season, then brown for 8-10 minutes, turning until golden on all sides. Remove to a plate and set aside.
Add the garlic to the hot pan of chicken juices, then add the tomatoes. Stir, then pour in the wine and allow to bubble over the heat for 2 minutes.
Add the green beans, distribute evenly among the tomatoes, then nestle the chicken thighs back into the pan, skin-side above the surface. Transfer to the oven and cook for 20-25 minutes, until the chicken skin is crisp and tender, there is no pink meat and the juices run clear.
Serve with the dill and a green salad and crusty bread for mopping everything up, if liked.
Try adding olives, capers, fennel, chilli or a selection of different herbs to take it in a new direction.
