General

All cooking appliances vary. This is a guide only. Wash hands after handling raw poultry. Unwrap and dispose of packaging carefully. Use separate kitchen utensils and surfaces for raw poultry and cooked, or wash between uses. Do not wash poultry before cooking.

Oven cook

From Chilled

Preheat the oven. Remove outer packaging and film, place glaze sachet to one side, then place joint in its tray onto a baking tray. Cover tray with foil and place in the centre of the preheated oven. ……During cooking: Cook for 1 hour 30 minutes. Remove foil, baste joint with juices from the bottom of the tray. Return to the oven and cook uncovered for a further 15 minutes. Discard the herb garnish and baste joint with juices from the bottom on the tray. Open the glaze sachet and pour the contents over the turkey joint. Return to the oven and cook uncovered for a further 15 minutes. End of cooking: Remove from the oven. Pierce the thickest part of the breast meat with a skewer to check that there is no pink meat and the juices run clear. If more cooking is required return it to the oven, checking every 15 minutes. Once cooked, remove from the oven, cover the tray with foil and leave to rest for 15 - 20 minutes. Remove trussing bands and carve to serve. (Time 2 hours, Oven: 190°C, Fan: 170°C, Gas: Gas Mark 5)
