Preparation and Usage
Lighting Guidelines Open damper for maximum air intake. Light the fire in the normal way using kindling or firelighters. When the fire is lit, and for maximum efficiency, close the intake to reduce burning rate and heating cost. Increase the heat level by opening the air flow. Do not use a poker, the ash automatically drops into the ash can. To Make the Most from your Open Fire Ensure you have an effective under grate air supply control Have your chimney swept at least, using: Big K Smokeless Coal Fire = once per year House Coal = twice per year Wood/Logs = every 3 months. Have your appliance regularly serviced by a competent person.
